Owner's remarks (Jerry Kramer, 12Apr2017):
Just purchased car in March from Leonard Jarvis in
Ocala, Florida who had owned the car for a few years (notes indicate
Leonard purchased the car from a car dealer in Indianapolis in 2012). It
had been owned by Frank Kleptz of Terre Haute, Indiana, for many
years before that. Very nice paint and wood. Looks to have had
frame-off restore cca. 1985. About that time the car won 1st place
at an AACA event. Controller has 10 brushes & there is no electric
brake. The resistance assembly has cast iron resistances. The car
runs fine on 72v. Research note (25Apr2017): Jerry confirmed body# stampings on car (#408) and found that the RF spring knuckle indeed has 24387 stamped into it. This confirms that Milburn Wagon Company had been stamping the knuckle before the Model 27L and that we should expect all the Model 27 cars have this stamp on that knuckle. NOTE: Model 22 cars do not appear to have the S/N stamped there. |
